Coast Scanning, Inc. offers the service of building a raster database from scanned drawings. Paper drawings up to 42" wide by any manageable length are optically scanned into digital bitmap representations of the original. The image is then modified as needed. Global parameter functions such as speckle removal, deskew, erase area commands, mirror and rotate are all techniques that can be used to improve the image further. These digital files can now be indexed through an Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) for viewing and electronic distribution.
